Ryan, this is a problem you should certainly fix, we have been discussing about it for a long time now in the chat boxes, and everyone agrees that away players are a pain in the ass, now, i know we all agree to kill them first, but sometimes that ain't that simple cause they seem to defend strong most of time.*
So couldnt there be a penalty like less chances in dice rolling? That would make games certainly more fair. *For example: last game i was 2nd best player and was going for connection with a 8 stack on a 7 stack of an away player to get in first, well i lost the roll and ended up 5th because off it. So the fact that away players don't get points by killing them first is solved, but the fact that they still steal away somebody's game and points isnt solved. Maybe their shouldnt even be an away function, but something to replace it by or just not be their, and everybody who doesnt push the "end turn" button doesnt get a fill up or so (but this is gonna slow the game, might be able to speed the time while once not clicked, but dunno about that. |

"It is my understanding that away players only collect dice for two turns. This allows for lag difficulties but prevents the truely absent from profiting in the long run." is this mentioned somewhere, or is just something you noticed? |

at 1:12 PM, Friday February 9, 2007 EST Any player that is away for 2 consecutive turns should be considered as losing/being defeated.
Then either: a) randomly distribute their territories to the remaining players or b) have their territories become 'dead' and not available for play |

at 1:18 PM, Friday February 9, 2007 EST Initially away players always got dice. This created an ongoing uproar in the forums about it. Ryan changed it to two rounds and made a post to that effect. When I count dice in an away player's territories I see that new dice only get added for two rounds.

they would end up in whatever place was the next out :) I said... "should be considered as losing/being defeated" When you lose/are defeated you're the next place out :) |

at 2:08 PM, Friday February 9, 2007 EST you realize that there's a reason Ryan never did what you propose...
the current system is the best compromise between lag/dropped connections & people who leave because their position sucks. |
