I know people who are away stop getting dice after a few rounds, but I think they should be given a one-dice penalty in their throws on defence as well, or something. I just noticed a trend where people join then are away the whole game, and end up getting 3rd because no one wants to attack their one 8stack, and it ticks me off. Especially if this person has flagged then left because it clear that they have accepted defeat.

at 4:55 AM, Thursday April 5, 2007 EDT The best solution to minor problems - e.g. away players getting higher positions than they "deserve" - is not to complicate the rules with unnecessary penalties.
The easiest way to avoid placing lower than an away player if you have a bad start is to play a smart game, don't go on suicide runs because you are unhappy with a weak start, don't make your opponents angry, don't beg or complain. If you do those things, usually (not always) fair players will help you out by finishing off the "aways" if you ask them nicely. Also, if they only have one territory the whole game and are away, their point total will be dismal even with a third place finish. |

at 5:09 AM, Thursday April 5, 2007 EDT I doubt that code even works, lol. But seriously, away players win rolls much easier than players that are active. Away and flagged players tend to tie or win 90% of the time, which is ridiculous.

But I did see a lot of games having the away and flagged players resisting any attempts to be killed. There was one game I remembered that the away player took 3, 4 rounds of 2 attacks each just to get rid of him. It's been like this most of the times since the day I started playing. I don't get why you want to pick on this, but I have my own opinions, while you have your own. |

Facts are facts, there is no difference in the odds for an away player. You said, "But I did see a lot of games having the away and flagged players resisting any attempts to be killed. There was one game I remembered that the away player took 3, 4 rounds of 2 attacks each just to get rid of him." And there have been just as many games where the away and flagged players lost on the first attack against them, and you failed to notice. The argument about the odds being stacked is just silly, unless Ryan is in a conspiracy to drive you nuts, which is quite possible. |
