Seriously, these people need to find better things to do other than to berate and harass people because of their avatars.

These people should be banned:

DealorNoDeal (get laid you uptight christan conservative)

Accountx3 (go away)

XicaDaSilva (get a life please)

Bring Kdice back to its former fun and glory. Down with the nitpicking censorship no-lifers!

It seems that the people with the biggest complaints about the "reporting" threads are usually the ones who post the most offensive chat and use the most offensive avatars. The remaining complainers seem to be free speech advocates who seem to misunderstand the difference between a private website owner making decisions about what is acceptable on his site and a tyrannical government restricting free speech in a public place.

If you are generally tend to be at worst a mildly risque kdice citizen, you don't have anything to be concerned about. It isn't a case of a government restricting free speech in a public place, just people who prefer to play a game on a civil and non-offensive web site reporting those who make the site less enjoyable for them. If you don't like the "reporting" threads, don't read them. Why would you be bothered by "reporting threads" if you don't do anything that would offend Ryan?

I just hate those "don't read it"-arguments. I know this isn't a democracy, but still I'd think the kdice-Police would come up with some more convincing statements.

Anyways: It's not so much about eventually being reported but about knowing of ppl creeping around to look for users to discredit (for PGA, avatar, comments...) always thinking about new ideas for what ppl could be reported. I am, for my part, just getting annoyed by those wannabe-cops. Especially since Ryan hasn't put out official guide-lines for what is to be tolerated and for what isn't.

Sorry, Ryan, I promised to shut up, but... well ... I apologize.

Nothing to fear if you've done nothing wrong, eh? Novel.

Tech i know you grew up 200km too far west to realize what you just said.
The Point is not so much: "do you have something to hide?", but "do you want to be part of a witchhunt?".

Did someone say witchhunt? Is this sort of like a foxhunt but with women with pointy noses and big tall hats? If so, count me in.

Willy:

Hmm? In that example, the question would be "Why would you be bothered by a witch hunt if you aren't a witch?"

tech et al,

My point about not not having anything to be concerned about if you don't offend Ryan was that people could post complaints about you all day long, but they have no power to ban you. Ryan, who is quite tolerant, has apparently not been banning people just because of complaints, but because of the actual content of chat, forum posts and avatars. The complaints and reporting threads aren't the cause of banning.

My guess is that a serial complainer who constantly makes frivolous accusations is in much greater danger of being banned than the object of their complaints.

I'm not a real history buff but I would be very surprised if I learned that "witchhunt" had anything to do with the hunting of people who turned out to be real witches. Perhaps Tech can come up with a counterexample.
