I can't sleep and I was looking through some of the older Advisor Blog stuff since the game is down. Pretty interesting. Curious as to why it stopped.

The TAZD was a pearson chi-square test. This kind of statistical test is dependent on the number of categories (i.e. ranks that you can finish at in any given game) being fixed. Since the game can be played with 5, 6, or 7 players, the test is no longer valid and cannot be run.

Oh, that makes sense. Forgot we used to have to wait for 8.

I am glad that some people have an interest in all that old stuff.

I am less active in kDice right now because I am sick. I am hanging on.

...and being sick entitles you to sympathy? you would not have posted that if you weren't looking for sympathy. #TRUMP2020

No, being sick entitles me to see a pool as to when I die.

I always remember that I wanted to try it but I didn't play enough to be relevant. Hopefully your sickness gets better. I'm sorry to hear about it.

There were lots of amazing stats out there. However, TAZD was the one that made little actual sense - you had situations where a win would make your TAZD worse, as one super-clear example.

Haha YES! Couldn't resist posting this. I miss our spats, skrum. I do hope you are feeling better soon. The world is a more interesting place with you in it.
