truces...1700+

i was recently in a game where blue was in first and yellow second...all 7 players left in

blue was gona win and if anyone was gona stop him it was yellow, in stead yellow persisted in wasting dice TRYING to kill me although i was flagged and lying idle.

i pointed that fact to yellow and he replied "i'd rather truce with blue"

blue accepted and wiped the floor with everyone...

now, i understand the point of this game is to win, make truces to ensure 1st/2nd etc, but on a 1700+ table...?

i thought players that have reached 1700+ status are skilled and have respect for the other players and the ettequette of the game. why a 1st/2nd truce, isn't that bad ettequette?

i know there are no rules etc, im simply saying this as i am interested in your views...

Kdice etiquette is not codified law chiseled in stone. People still act however they want to, ultimately.

I've seen 1/2 truces at the 1900 tables too. There is no point one can reach in rating where everyone agrees to stop such lame tactics.

btw, take off that ugly hat, ya got pretty hair so dont hide it

I don't see exactly how this is 'lame'? It seems like a decent strategy, which works.. I understand the point about it being a multi player game, but in playing such a game, and a war game at that, you should be prepared to lose.. And not expect everyone to treat you in a way that you find fair..

P.S. I like the hat.

"i thought players that have reached 1700+ status are skilled and have respect for the other players and the ettequette of the game."

That made me laff.

P.S. ditch the hat

Love the hat.

I would ask the Forum what flagging really means, with regard to gameplay.

If 1/2 truce wouldn't change the outcome of the game I don't care. (e.g. 1 is very big, 2 is kinda big, everyone else is weenies)

If I'm 1st and 2 and 3 are close in size to me and 2 wants to truce me, I'm gonna go for it, otherwise 2 and 3 will truce and tear me up. If I'm 2nd and 1st wants to truce me I probably won't go for it depending on the lameness of the situation.

And the hat sucks.

The flag is a subtle, difficult to master and highly controversial weapon, but in the hands of a wise player it can be quite powerful. One thing it certainly does NOT mean, however, is, "I surrender now and will absolutely not attack anyone anymore." despite how much some people wish it did.

So you say no to buddy in 1st, he kills you next while some weakling(s) that didn't war place higher than you?

Or maybe you ally with player in 3rd and finish 1-2 because it would be lame for the leader to get 1st?
