at 2:14 AM, Friday April 13, 2007 EDT Gadjet, while pregame truces are highly frowned upon, and you will sure not get to high tables with pregame truces, as after some level you will not get any opponents who are willing to play against you, there is not yet a social consensus that this is banworthy. And it will not be soon.
Currently the game and social mechanics itself make this behaviour unattractive in the long run. |

I agree that it won't fly very far at the highest tables, but it causes a lot of hassle everywhere else. I ran into saldiray & company earlier on and it pissed me off. I'm not really part of the "ban them" camp, mostly because of the complications that policy will have... but what they're doing is a form of griefing and griefing is definitely ban worthy (ebrake for example) Here are some qualities of griefing: -The unfair use or abuse of a game mechanic that was not intended by the game's developers. -The inability of the victim to exact some means of retribution beyond utilizing similar unintended game mechanics. -The intended purpose of an act of griefing must be to negatively impact the game play of another person. |
