ranking logical???

i have a 0.04 1235 score, ranked 848th
friend has a 0.01 1527 score, ranked 1736th i have seen all the post on ranking, elo, blah...... but with a 300 pts difference, my friend is ranked ablot 700 places below me and yet have a higher score........i know it makes sense using the calculation methodolgy, BUT is it intuitive? |

rating (computed using ELO) -- supposed to measure skill/quality score -- a.k.a the points, additive, incremented by 1/rank_from_rating at the end of each game -- way of rewarding players that achieve and *maintain* high rating rank_of_rating == old ranking system, used now only to compute the increments for the score rank_from_score == new official ranking system |
