If you want to go purely strategical, try a nice, pleasing image, such as a kitten, baby, or a cute chick. Beatiful is better. Naked is a little over the line, but it has been done. You can edit the smiley wavatar with your own design. I've used that to make a gentleman, a hillbilly trucker, a police officer, a christmas elf, and a guy w/ aviators and a toothpick. You can also use the logo of your favorite band, the burger king King is popular. Try avoiding most animated avatars. Some are ammoying, but, it depends on your taste.

I think you misunderstood his question. If you want to use an avatar, while in the game screen, click on options on the top left by your name and then choose change photo from the drop down menu. Then browse your computer for the picture you wanna use and click upload.
