Hey all!

You all know the old mythology of phoenix, I think...

So. Sawing kaos - knew by his games with more then 2000 points - at an unlimited table with less then 1400 points brought me up to this idea:

How cool should it be to rise up like phoenix out of his ashes after a crash-down like this?

So I started a new avatar and crashed him down under 1000 points. I´m actually with 994 points the 3rd-worst player...

In the next days I will try to get a one-day-gain of perhaps 700 or 800 points...
Who will bet with me? Who will be better?
Join the PHOENIX-contest!

from wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_%28mythology%29

... At the end of its life-cycle the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises...

good idea, although not that hard i guess.
recovering back to 1500 should only take 4-5 games in 1st to 3rd place...

oh and "worst" is already the superlative...

ELO-Rating should reflect a stable ability to play, not be target of phoenix raises...

I just recently read an article, a ELO diff. of +200 in chess means winning 3/4 of games...

btw - it´s a real hard work to get a rating below 1000 points!
You will earn points for the 6th rating in the end! And for seventh you lose only about 10-15 points...

Without doing anything you will probably get 4th or even the 3rd place in the table, ´cause your towers are to big... Down there you´ll find a completly other style to fight then in the upper tables - it´s the djungel!!

Even it´s hard to sea the most phantastic start-situations, but it´s not allowed to win the game... you will earn to much points... It´s really hard to negiotate them.

I´m in. Currently down to 894 points. Last Game i got second, that was +6. For 7th place i usually lose about 8-11 points.
When I was at 916 someone managed to give me second place. That was +75 points.
But I have to disagree dumpfbaeckchen: It really is not _that_ hard to stay low.

fuzzycat, I don't care about the stability of the ELO rating system. I would like to try, too, and be ignorant of all that stuff, since I'm sick of limbo b/w 1800 and 1400. I'd rather go down, and then rise as much as I can (but, because of my luck ebbing and flowing, rising much higher will be the hard part. I'll try it. Something new, and, dumpfbaeckchen, do I have to actively participate in the game to lose? I will do so until I get an answer.

Hey JDizzle! Be welcome! If you still have enough points it will be ok to sit in the tables and do nothing... But if you go down the normal number of points it get harder to loss points.

Then you start to earn points for 5th and 6th places... Sitting in mean then, to stack your big towers up for some rounds. But so long the other players start to attack with all possible dices in the beginning, you will be the strongest player for a while and they are not able to put you out... so you have to look how to reduce your towers without gathering to much new countries and get more new dices... these players are so weak, that they will also have problems to take out a two- or three-dice-tower! It´s incredible!

Wish you some fun and would be glad if you post you´re results here in the forum!

p.s. always trucing may give also some tipps to get down... "really not-that-hard" :)
